Blackbeard

Edward Teach. The most theatrical pirate of the Golden Age.

Blackbeard cultivated terror as a tool. Lit fuses tucked into his beard before battle. Six pistols across his chest. The flag — horned skeleton, spear in hand, piercing a bleeding heart — was designed to win the fight before a shot was fired. He blockaded Charleston in 1718 and held the city hostage for medical supplies. He died at Ocracoke Inlet that November with five pistol wounds and twenty cuts. Three centuries on, he is still the first pirate name most people know. The full Mutineer Bay Blackbeard collection — tees, hoodies, tanks, hats, beanies, mugs, backpacks.
